digiplex 2: repair how to.

This article will be useful, for users who own old Fiat and ather cars with ignition module Digiplex 2. Time is running, and old goods become more older and untrustworthy. One day my cousin ask me for help. His car engine, did not start at morning. And after couple of trying he understand, that something went wrong. We start trying to find a problem. After several checks i understand, where is a fault. Let me introduce digiplex 2

 

We remowed back cover, and all elements was are flooded in silicone or something like a rubber. I poured some gasoline, and left for half of hour. Rubber become more soft, and match more easy to remove.

 

The ic chip, biggest one on the right top, some pins was not soldered well. (I mean on top photo.)

Zener diode is also was broken. But i not sure by me, or was broken before our intervention.

zener (MZD5.6) was replaced with using tl431a chip, zhis chip has very close parameters. Current up to 100mA and ajustable stabilisation voltage.

After this modification, engine start working like new one .
